11th Southern Africa Ulama Forum Successfully Held in Lusaka, Zambia!
The Makeni Islamic Society Trust (MIST) had the honor of hosting the 11th Southern Africa Ulama Forum (SAUF) from Friday, 11 October 2024, to Saturday, 12 October 2024. 🕌
The event brought together over 300 participants from Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia, Malawi, Swaziland, and other countries as far as Sri Lanka and India! The discussions were rich and diverse, focusing on topics such as education, leadership, youth, mental health, AI, and the evolving role of imams in today’s world. 🌱📚
Key highlights included:
✔️ In-depth discussions on Dawah and the importance of engaging with non-Muslims.
✔️ Powerful talks on the genocide in Gaza, shedding light on the global need for activism and solidarity.
✔️ Workshops on co-existence, urging ulama to engage with local communities on matters of common interest.
