Overview

Established in 1996, the College of Education has been a cornerstone of teacher training in Zambia. Initially offering a primary teacher’s certificate, the college expanded in 2008 to include a diploma in both primary and secondary education, reflecting its growth and commitment to educational excellence.Affiliated with the University of Zambia, the College of Education offers a range of subject combinations, including Science, Computer Studies/Business, Computer Studies/Mathematics, Mathematics/Physical Education, and Social Studies. This diverse offering ensures that graduates are well-prepared to contribute meaningfully to the education sector. Despite the challenges faced over the years, the college has maintained impressive pass rates, ranging from 66% to 91%, and has successfully placed most of its graduates in public sector jobs, with others finding opportunities in the private sector.

Vocational Training College

Established in 2006, MIST’s Vocational Training College (VTC) offers job-oriented courses in areas such as Power Electrical, Food Production, Computer Skills, and Tailoring, equipping students with practical skills vital for today’s economy. Accredited by Zambia’s Technical Education, Vocational, and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA), the VTC ensures students are well-prepared for the workforce. A bursary program also supports students from financially challenged backgrounds, ensuring access to vocational education. With consistent pass rates of 98-100% over the past decade, the VTC stands as a testament to the quality of education and training it provides.
